Linda Thompson

Linda's 'official' arts training ended when she acquired an M.A. in the History and Theory of Sculpture Studies at Leeds University some years ago. She was a founder member of the YSG in 1985 and has exhibited with and without the group at a wide range of venues ever since. She has carried out a diverse range of public and private commissions and has both figurative and abstract work held in private collections throughout the world. Most of her abstract work is strongly inspired by those elements of mass and balance which can be seen in the natural rocky and organic structures in the wilder parts of Yorkshire. However her work exhibited at Holy Rood was derived from her fascination with the form and movement of the indigenous lizards on the island of Formentera.
