19: Terry Hammill was educated at Battey College of Art and Goldsmiths College in London. He now lives and works in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. He has recently completed a sculpture installation on the theme of 'Are' as part of Perth International Arts Festival in Western Australia. He has work in private and public collections induding the Arts Council of Great Britain. The sculpture Terry has created, 'Outside Inside', is based on the proportions and patternings of the plain glass leaded window in the west wall of the north west transept. The pointed top of the window, when curved, becomes a candle-flame shaped aperture. The inside of the cylinder will be a brilliant white, and siting the sculpture dose to the central aisle should hopefully funnel the overhead light into the cylinder's interior . The cylinder could be thought of as 'bringing the outside inside' and, in that sense, it becomes a metaphor for the building itself
