10. While visiting the magnificent Ripon Cathedral I was particularly taken by the carved heads all around on the interior woodwork. Even on my way home I felt inspired to create a piece of work incorporating heads of some kind. The very next day I received a parcel and some of it's content was protected for transport with an intriguing piece of packaging. This piece of foam packaging was die cut into several pieces almost like a foam jigsaw with oblong pieces. I played about with it for some time and then suddenly it struck me how very much a particular juxtaposition of these parts resembled a stylised human face. After further development I thought about using different materials to make the same shape a total of 13 times and assembling the different pieces into a whole project representing the Last Supper. This particular moment of religious history has always fascinated me and of course many other artists throughout the ages.
