Scott Senogles

Born in Castleford in 1982, Scott currently lives in Leeds. On completing an MA in Organ performance with composition in 2005 he has held the post of Organist and Director of Music at Mirfield Parish Church. Since 2006 Scott has held a studio with East Street Arts at their Beaver Studios where he continues to develop an ongoing body of works based on the humanoid form in carved stone, ceramics and print. Past sculptural exhibitions include Leeds Parish Church and the Yorkshire Craft Centre (Bradford University), in July 2007 as part of the exhibition Climate. His most recent engagements include exhibitions as part of the Yorkshire Sculptors Group at Arts@Trinity in Leeds and Durham Cathedral. As both a professional musician and practising artist Scott's artwork is created, based and expressed through the concept of 'the performance'. That is: the act of creating a work with both obvious and un-obvious actions and consequences for the viewer. Previous work has experimented with installation, text, multiples and photography with which to investigate ideas such as mortality, religion and sexuality and their physical representation in contemporary society.
