My
works are constructed from a diversity of found objects and materials. They
relate to the properties and origins of the selected materials and to the themes
and techniques currently being investigated. Inspirations include natural structures;
buildings and sculpture, the sea and all it brings to shore; music and mythology
and the effects of light and air movement. Present themes include the lightening
series using copper cable, tape and sheet. Drus based oak beams with nails and
screws. Masks of brass sheet and rods with beads and shell based mobiles and
ikons. Since the 1980's I have exhibited widely in open shows at regional art
galleries and with the Yorkshire Sculptors Group at St Marys Abbey York, Rievaux
Abbey and Durham Cathedral.
