STATEMENT My work for this exhibition was influenced by the pierced fruit bowls and the a chandelier in the Bowes ceramic collection. One of my major fascinations is invisible forces, especially the wind - which we can feel but not touch. When I use the smoke kiln I can almost see the wind as it swirls the smoke around after it has decorated my pots. I enjoy using basic geometric forms and building them into precarious sculptural towers which are a metaphor of the different elements which combine to make a personality whole and yet individual.
