Double Handstand This piece is concerned with movement and multiples. What attracts people to such activities as synchronised swimming or line dancing? Why do skydivers form intricate patterns in free fall? The sculptures I have created to try and answer these questions (such as Double Handstand) rely on multiples of the human form arranged in such a way as to create an aesthetic which is incidental to the pose of the figure.

Jill Stretching Continuing with the idea of capturing movement this piece was arrived at after I noticed the way my partner twisted as she stretched. I had seen her do this on other occasions but had not really noted it until I realised that it was something she did habitually, rather in the same way as a cat stretches. It fitted into the frame of other ideas I have about forms created by the figure rather than the form of the figure itself.
